one-day-internationals (ODI) and in Test cricket formats of the game.
In 2002 the Indian cricketer, Tendulkar
was chosen by Wisden as the second greatest one-day-international (ODI)
batsman of all time, behind West Indian cricketer Sir Viv Richards and
as the second greatest Test batsman behind the Australian cricketer Don
Bradman.

in history by recording 100 international centuries. He bowls
occasionally in one-day-international s (ODI) and in test matches.
Tendulkar has taken 154 wickets in one-day-internationals and 200
wickets in 45 international test matches with off or leg spin bowling
techniques.
Tendulkar made his first class debut for
Bombay team in the Indian domestic cricket series known as the Ranji
Trophy in the 1987–88 seasons. The great cricketer made his Test debut
for India in November 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi. His
one-day-international s (ODI) debut followed shortly after, when
selected for the first ODI of the 1989 series against Pakistan in
Gujranwala .Over the years Tendulkar was one of the most destructive
and feared international batsman in world over .The Indian cricketing
team needed the experience of the great cricketing legend to steer
and bring victory to the Indian team at the 2011 Cricket World Cup
held in India . As a leading run-scorer Tendulkar played an important
role during the Cricket World Cup victory of India in 2011. Before
becoming part of the Cricket World Cup winning Indian team Tendulkar
had five Cricket World Cup appearances. He received honorary doctorates
from the Rajiv Gandhi University for Health science and from University
of Mysore.

his passion for cricket and the conviction in his own ability which
eventually helped him to become one of the greatest cricketers of all
time.
