China’s President Xi Jinping formally elected by the National People’s Congress

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) completed the transfer of power to the new panel of chosen successors to lead the 1.3 billion people of China for the next ten years.
The once-in-a-decade leadership transition was held in the  Great Hall of the People on the western edge of Tiananmen Square in Beijing.
The National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, the world’s largest parliament, formally elected Xi Jinping as the President and Li Yuanchao as the Vice President of the Peoples Republic of China on 14 March 2013.President Xi Jinping hails from a well known family which has contributed immensely to the Chinese Communist Party (CPC).He is the son of a former Vice-Premier Xi Zhongxun a veteran from the first generation Chinese Communist Party (CPC).He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1974 .
The president was appointed as a member Politburo Standing Committee at the 17th Communist Party of China congress in October 2007.
He held the position of Vice-chairmanship from 18 October 2010. Two years later he was elected to the post of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on 15 November 2012.
President Xi Jinping  was also  appointed as  the Chairman  of the Communist Party of China by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
